SELF CONTAINED BIODIESEL REACTOR

Just like many other people out there experimenting with biodiesel we too at one time had a very unsafe setup. Many people do not realize the danger behind reacting used food oil into biodiesel. Aside form the caustic chemicals involved, there is quite a danger of an explosion in the reacting vessel given the volatility of methanol. That's right, pure alcohol. If your not working in an environment with all explosion proof motors, switches and actuators, your asking for trouble. Many people don't realize this danger as we have seen first hand.

We've taught a lot of people how to make homebrewed biodiesel in their garages. There is such a sense of empowerment when your making your own fuel. Problem is, many of these backyard laboratories are not safe at all. We once witnessed a guy pumping the methanol into the reactor with an electric fuel pump and exposed car battery. We sort of hid behind the garage wall while brainiac performed his duty.

Anyway, above is a picture of one of our first biodiesel reactors. The entire system was built in the cargo trailer using all explosion proof equipment. To take things a step further the entire process was controlled from another building 30 feet away. These are the processors that we build for other companies and those interested in being involved in mid-scale biodiesel production.

Details: 600 gallon bio-diesel processing system with off-site controls.
